Freedom Of Information Act

 Under Michigan’s Freedom of Information Act, citizens have the right to access most public records.

As a way to prevent abuse, Michigan law requires the government to be transparent and grant its citizens access to public records.  If you feel your rights have been violated, or you find government dealings questionable, you have a right to know.
